STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS REPORTS

THIS IS OUR SPECIALIST AREA; BOTH TECHNICALLY AND IN TERMS OF RAPID RESPONSE TIMES

E Mail  Judith@pole.co.uk for an immediate quotation and appointment. We can normally visit within days and report next day.

TWO TYPES OF REPORT   http://www.pole.co.uk/technical/

A) Localised DEFECT INSPECTION REPORT. Eg one crack in one bay window.

B) GENERAL MOVEMENT REPORT;  A broader MOT/ Health check on all walls to property.

PRACTICE PRINCIPAL SIMON POLE UNDERTAKES MOST OF THIS WORK.

The most common areas:-

Localised cracking

General signs of movement

Tree concerns with clay soils.

Subsidence concerns, previous underpinning

Roof strengthening issues

Bulging and leaning walls

Floor and roof loading problems

We carry out a visit and report most days of the week and are renowned for our prompt turnaround times and easy to understand reports.

We can normally visit well within days of your enquiry and invariably issue our reports NEXT DAY. We can provide SAME DAY verbal advice in advance of the formal report when matters are urgent.

We can provide Structural Engineers’ reports on any defects.  These form part of our daily work and we have a dedicated system to provide fairly immediate response, often providing a next day visit and issuing of the report the day after. On occasions we have issued the report on the same day as the visit, as we appreciate many point of sale reports are urgent.

Such reports are often required by clients and lending institutions and their Surveyors as part of a property purchase. We have been providing these reports for over 30 years on a daily basis and provide a comforting customer service to talk our clients through their requirements.

Our jargon free reports are produced by Chartered Structural Engineers (CEng MIStructE is the appropriate qualification) and we aim to issue our reports very promptly as they often occur immediately prior to exchange of contracts.

Our fees for carrying out inspections and producing reports start at approximately £1,000 + VAT for a second opinion on a localised matter, for smaller local dwellings in South London and Surrey inside the M25.

Where multiple defect arise or where you require a more general “movement” report, fees start at £ 1500+vat for smaller houses and flats.

See ‘TECHNICAL‘ section for explanation of ‘defect inspection‘ reports (when single defects are an issue) and ‘general movement‘ reports, where several matters require a second opinion.

Visits can be arranged at short notice and we often issue the report (if urgent) the same day or within 48 hours.

Professional Indemnity Insurance is of course provided.

Full back up is available to speak to clients, Surveyors, Solicitors, Insurers and Mortgage advisors etc afterwards.

We can specify and supervise subsequent repairs.

Budget costing advice is provided if requested.

Further details in our Technical section.
