Glass and contemporary Structures
We are increasingly being asked to design in structural glass.
Some of these projects involve large panels forming external walls and doors but a wide range of less obvious elements are increasingly using this exciting material.
These include internal floors, stair and landing balustrading and in some instances, staircases.
The light and airy spaces that can be created by the use of glass are terrific. The unobtrusive nature of the material also appears to ‘add’ space and sits very comfortably next to period features in otherwise traditional homes. There is certainly no need to think that glass is only for modern houses.
