The AGM was held on the 11th November and was well attended, with a lively discussion on a host of matters, washed down with a very enjoyable glass of wine afterwards. Special thanks are due to Judy and the committee and to Peter who has bravely taken over as Chairman following the amazing work of Pippa Armitage.
Our ward Councillors kindly gave up their evening to provide all sorts of useful advice. (David.Williams@merton.gov.uk, Suzanne.Evans@Merton.gov.uk and David.Simpson@Merton.gov.uk)
The neighbourhood police also kindly attended and provided a very interesting presentation with all sorts of useful feedback on traffic, licensing, crime etc. We were all reminded of the importance of providing feedback on any of these issues so that our local officers can refer important matters to the senior decision makers. Particular concern was expressed with regard to traffic speeds in Ridgway Place, Spencer Hill and on Ridgway.
If you have any concerns please email them at:-
Hillside.snt@met.police.uk or see
www.communitysafe.gov.uk/channels/82-merton-police-hillside-safer-neighbourhood-team
Without this feedback it is very difficult for the police to help us.
New members are of course always welcome and it is hoped that by joining your Residents Association it will help you belong to your local community. Annual costs are a modest £5 per household so how can you resist! Please contact Judy Ruston on above telephone or email address if you would like to join us.
Volunteers are welcome to assist the committee for just a few hours each year on matters such as town planning, traffic/parking and licencing. No specialist knowledge is required but it is clearly a bonus if you have an interest in these matters.
